Discover the Power of Connecting with Special Needs and Disabled Communities

Special Olympics Indiana is hosting the Summer Games in less than one month! The events will take place over the course of a three-day period, from June 7-9, in Terre Haute, Indiana.

I’ve shared several times that my mission with “Transcending Labels” is to inspire action, not just “awareness.” With that being said, I’d encourage anyone reading to look into this event and volunteer if at all possible! The athletes work extremely hard to hone their skills throughout the year, and this is what you could consider their “Super Bowl” of events.

The organization as a whole is always looking for generous individuals who are willing to give their time and energy to help out. I will personally be there on Saturday, June 8, for the morning sessions. This will be my first Summer Games and I cannot wait to meet new athletes, volunteers, and undoubtedly leave inspired by what these individuals are able to achieve. My brief time coaching one of the basketball teams was just the introduction into how amazing and fulfilling the experience of working with Special Olympics can be.
